Legacy : 40 years after Elvis' passing, impersonators discuss heritage

What was it about Elvis that rouses tribute craftsmen around the world to perform in his name after this time? Those at the get-together in Manila talk about their inspirations:

WHY DOES ELVIS RESONATE FOR YOU ALL THESE YEARS LATER?

Filipino Jun Espinosa, 44, business specialist:

"Everything for Elvis, that is the main inspiration. What's more, for the fans. Up to now I'm having this in my idea and in my mind that possibly without Elvis in me, I couldn't have survived certain purposes of my life. ... Perhaps as long as I can shake, as long as I can do this, and insofar as individuals will love Elvis, it will be there."

Ramon Jacinto, 72, artist, TV host and organizer of Philippine shake "n" move radio station DZRJ:

"He traversed dark music roots to you know, to all nationalities. Indeed, even the Beatles were affected by Elvis. Everyone was affected. He was the genuine case of an out-of-the-container entertainer. Furthermore, he squirmed, he had an alternate style of singing from the season of Frank Sinatra. ... He opened the way to joyful shake "n" roll and the state of mind."

HOW DO YOU TAILOR YOUR ELVIS ACT FOR YOUR OWN CULTURE AND AUDIENCE?

Filipina Anjeanette Japor, 22, artist:

"Regardless I consolidate my style, similar to, pop and something that is present day. Unquestionably my tunes, the game plans are not quite the same as the first Elvis melodies with the goal that individuals, regardless of what age you are, can even now make the most of my music."

Douglas Masuda of Japan, 73, resigned legal counselor:

"All things considered, I don't generally tailor anything. Simply sing it the way you feel it. In the event that you feel it, the group of onlookers feels it. It's genuine basic. You must feel it. Since I don't look like Elvis, I don't generally solid like Elvis, however when I sing, you feel it, you learn about Elvis coming."

WHY IS ELVIS STILL RELEVANT 40 YEARS AFTER HIS DEATH?

Filipino Bam Angping, 21, understudy:

"It's truly the fans. Michael Jackson was a major, enormous star. In any case, they don't have that sort of group, similar to, they praise each year pantomimes. It's truly the fans that made Elvis experience this long. He was extraordinary at his opportunity. Yet, in the event that it were not for the fans, presumably he would be, you know, as, 'Better believe it I recall him. Be that as it may, not by any stretch of the imagination.'"

Eddie Lombardo of Italy:

"So we attempt to keep the name of Elvis alive. .... we're not attempting to copy Elvis since no one can "be" Elvis. There's just a single Elvis, you know? What's more, what we're attempting to (do is) take the memory of Elvis back to individuals, that is fundamentally what we're doing."

Japor:

"In the music business, the melodies of Elvis remain a work of art. Like Bruno Mars, he has a great deal of shake "n" move tunes. The majority of them began from the legends, one of which is Elvis. So I think his melodies still have an awesome effect to the music we have these days. There are a considerable measure of tunes really that were sung by Elvis that are being secured at this moment. Furthermore, that gives a cutting edge curve to the tune. So thus, Elvis keeps on living with the music."
